Visit to the CPIFP Marítimo Zaporino Vocational Training Education Centre
With its pioneer circular economy programme to regenerate San Fernando Bay, CPIFP Marítimo Zaporito is a public centre with a range of sea-based training programmes.
Located in San Fernando, CPIFP Marítimo Zaporito is a public vocational training facility which teaches technical officers in the maritime fishing sector, and is authorised by the Merchant Navy Department to issue specialist Basic Security Training, Deck Rating and Engine Rating basic training certificates.
The centre is a pioneer in the training of technical officers in the maritime fishing sector, and operates an international pioneer circular economy project to breed an aquaculture mugilidae (Chelon auratus). The project aims to subsequently regenerate its habitat, San Fernando bay, which would create jobs in an area hard hit by high unemployment.
Marítimo Zaporito has experience in the assessment and accreditation of competences relating to harbour loading operations, stowage, unloading, unstowage and trans-shipment, and to subaquatic afloat repair operations and refloating in collaboration with the INCUAL qualifications institute. It also has official quality certification to ISO 9001:2015.
